OUR STORY
Hi, I'm Amy!
I am the founder & owner/operator of Wang Doggy Day Spa. I've lived in Wangaratta for the last 23 years. I love our town, the area and the community.

I am blessed with a wonderful family and a great life. They have been very supportive and encouraging of my new venture and brave move to become a small business owner.
​
At home we have 2 cats Tigey & Gingey, & a Jack Russell Terrier dog Lily. You'll probably get to meet Lily, following me around closely. She LOVES her mumma!
My experience...
Our dog grooming Salon has now been open for 12 months. I groom every day, all breeds, and all styles.

My background
My passion is animal health and wellness. I have 18 years experience as at Vet nurse, with 16 years working here in Wangaratta at Warby St Veterinary Hospital.
A huge shout out to the team at Warby St Vets, they have been my biggest supporters. I feel very blessed to have loved my job and workplace and learnt so much about animals and health, whilst being surrounded by incredibly intelligent, humble, kind, and generous people for so long. I still do the occasional Vet Nursing shift on a Saturday, to keep my skills and stay connected.

Prior to opening, I spent about 18 months grooming dogs part time, completing many online courses and getting as many skills as I could to be confident and capable to have a good understanding of dog grooming.
How Wang Doggy Day Spa Began...
I was looking for a change, a new challenge, and decided I would like to start my own business. I wondered what I could do that I would love, where I was genuinely helping, as I'm very passionate about giving and I enjoy helping people. So, I saw a shortage in dog grooming services and my idea for Wang Doggy Day Spa was born. It took a little while to get to this point as the original business plan also included dog daycare services.
My journey, including the learning and growth, have been incredible which has made me all the more passionate to get started and meet the demand for dog grooming in the community. I've had time to undertake some additional study in dog psychology and training, dog grooming, become a sponge, and plenty of time to think about the amazing overall health and wellness centre I wanted to create for your dog.

The dream is to purchase a dog hydrotherapy treadmill
and offer all the amazing benefits of hyrotherapy alongside our other dog health services.
What we offer...

I am super excited to be offering this grooming salon to the Wangaratta community, directly to your dogs. We have a holistic approach, we want all the dogs visiting our salon to have a great experience. We use diffusers, adaptil transport spray, enrichment, positive reinforcement, and take our time with your dog. I'm so grateful for our incredible team of dog stylists and professionals. ​
Our team are amazing; passionate, highly skilled, caring and committed to meeting your expectations around grooming for your dog. I cannot wait for you to meet them! I love to build connections and bring everyone together to support your dogs in living a long, happy, healthy, and fulfilled life as a much-loved member of your family.
